The Phoenix office of Cramer Krasselt moved into the 18th Floor of the Viad Tower on Central Avenue. With friendly competition in design of the sister offices in Milwaukee, New York City, Atlanta and Chicago, the Phoenix office raised the bar with its own unique statement. The design concept was generated through the purpose of the space - to feature the graphic and advertising work of the Client. A concept of implied cityscape elements used as backdrops or to frame the graphic images, is repeated throughout both public and work areas.
The red "billboard" on opposite sides of the main conference room is built with a cold-rolled steel frame with exposed welds supporting back painted glass panels. Simple black PAR-lamp fixtures both stem mounted from tracks or wall mounted w/ curved extensions are a tongue-in-cheek reference to street lights. Green carpet inlays imply small "grassy parks" at which to gather to exchange ideas. Views of the City of Phoenix skyline were made an active part of the office design through the open relationship between the lobby and conference room with the use of pivot doors. The design of the project acts both as a backdrop to feature the work of the advertising agency, as well as an energetic environment to promote creative thinking.
